A delegation led by the Swedish Ambassador travel to Beledweyne

A delegation led by the Swedish Ambassador to Somalia Staffan Tillander has recently arrived in Beledweyne, the capital of Hiran region.
The Swedish Ambassador’s delegation was welcomed at Ugas Khalif Beledweyne airport by Hirshabelle regional and district administration officials, government and AMISOM officials.
After the reception, the delegation inspected the Hilikilyo area, one of the areas where the Shabelle River dams have been constructed.
The purpose of the delegation’s visit to Beledweyne is to take part in addressing the recurring floods in Beledweyne, the capital of Hiran region.
The Ambassador of Sweden is set to take a private meeting with Vice President Yusuf Ahmed Hagar and the Hirshabeelle administration, which said that the focus is on how to deal with the floods of Shabelle River impacting the local population in the region.
The vice president of Hirshabelle has appointed a ministerial level committee to receive the delegates and report on the projects and activities related to the floods in Hiraan region.
