Young man kills his father in Mogadishu; flees scene

A tragic incident took place last night in Mogadishu, in the Obasiib neighborhood of Wadajir district, after a young boy killed his father with a knife by stabbing him in the heart.
The deceased, who was about 60 years old, was identified as Osman Garboojo, and was well known in the main market in Wadajir district where he worked.
According to reports, the killer, a 20-year-old man, fled the scene and was identified as Abdulkadir Osman Garbojo.
One of the men who worked with the slain father described what had happened and said he was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.
He also pointed out that the killer had escaped, calling on security officials to arrest the fugitive.
He said: “We were in the market and a phone call was made to us that the father was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries and (with) the boy escaping the scene.”
Meanwhile, reports say that in the past, there was an altercation between the family and the killer son, who was said to be under the influence of drugs, according to some of the relatives of the deceased.
The incident came as a shock to the residents, and the house of the deceased is currently filled with people from different parts of Mogadishu, paying their respects to the deceased man.
