Members of the Federal Electoral Commission (FIET) have recently arrived in Barawe to conduct a security inspection of the venue for the upcoming parliamentary elections, and the committee said that Barawe will be the first venue for the by-elections.

Meanwhile, AMISOM police forces have been deployed in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug, as part of securing the upcoming parliamentary elections.

About 250 Ethiopian troops are also expected to arrive in Dhusamareb in the coming days to bolster the Djiboutian contingent.
