Arab parliament issues statement on elections in Somalia

The Arab Parliament has welcomed the recent decision by the Somali National Consultative Assembly on the timetable for elections in Somalia.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adil Bin Abdirahman Al-Asumi praised the Somali leaders for their role in moving the country forward to elections.

Chairman Adil Bin Abdirahman said that the Arab Parliament will support the Somali government in the stability and development of Somalia.

Arab Parliament called on the Arab countries and the international community to support Somalia in unveiling of the agreements reached by the heads of government are with the country on course to hold free and fair elections.
