Attack on a house in Jowhar injures lawmakers

Reports from Jowhar, the capital of HirShabele administration say that a house belonging to HirShabelle MPs was attacked recently.

According to local sources, a grenade was used in the attack, injuring three members from the HirShabelle administration.

Residents told local media that shots were heard minutes after the house was bombed, which is believed to have been fired by the bodyguards of the lawmakers’.

The neighbourhood where the lawmakers were attacked is inhabited by HirShabelle regional candidates and is heavily guarded, according to residents.

The injured lawmakers were rushed to hospital, and operations are underway in the town to track down the perpetrators although security officials of Hirshabelle State are yet to comment.
