Civilians killed in landmine blast in Mudug region

Reports from Mudug region say that a landmine blast killed eight civilians and injured two others between Ba’adweyne village in Mudug region.

The dead included three children, aged between three and five reports add.

Sources from Mudug region say that another car bomb exploded in Amara area injuring three people on board.

The vehicle was driven by khat traders in Mudug region.

The areas where the blasts took place have recently been liberated from Al-Shabaab militants, and the army stepping up their ongoing operations against Al-Shabaab.

Landmine explosions are on the rise in areas liberated from Al Shabaab, with a recent bomb blast targeting government vehicles killing one government official.
