More details are emerging from the bombings targeting officials including the Puntland Minister of Security.
According to reports, the Puntland Minister of Security survived two explosions targeting a convoy escorting the minister, who was traveling from Iskushuban to Balli-dhadin.
One of the minister’s bodyguards was killed in the blasts and several others were injured.
The delegation included Puntland Defense Forces Commander General Yasin Omar Dheere and Bari Governor Abdisamad Yusuf Mohamed Abwan with all the officials surviving the mine attacks unscathed.
The minister said that Puntland forces were conducting an operation against ISIS in the mountains and that they thought the mine had been planted by the group.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
