The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo has appointed a National Commission of Inquiry into the case of the late Ikran Tahlil Farah.

The commission appointed by Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo will be headed by the countries Attorney General and the Attorney General of the Armed Forces Court.

“The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, has made it a priority to conduct an open investigation into the case of Ikran Tahlil Farah” the statement read.

Earlier this week, a commission appointed by Prime Minister Roble had began investigating the case, but to no avail.

The prime minister then ordered the military tribunal to investigate the case, which is currently ongoing.

However, analyst say the move could be seen as a move by the President for two purposes, first, to take full control of the case from the Prime Minister and second, to clear himself of the accusation that he was obstructing justice in the Ikran case.
