Farmajo deploys troops to PM Roble’s office

Credible reports indicate that a large contingent of military vehicles under the command of President Farmajo has been deployed at the entrance to the Prime Minister’s Office as well as at Roble’s residence.
The troops completely refused entry to the office of Prime Minister Roble this morning, and the staff of the Prime Minister’s office returned home this morning.
According to reports, the Red Caps guards from the office of the President have ordered the staff of the Prime Minister’s Office to return to their homes and that there is an undisclosed situation.
Prime Minister Roble is at his home inside the Presidential Palace, and reports indicate that more troops have also been deployed at his residence making it difficult for the prime to leave the premises.
The Deputy Minister of Information issued a statement on the current situation and activities in Villa Somalia and announced that a coup was underway.
“What is happening this morning is an indirect coup and it will not succeed,” said Minister Abdirahman Al-Adala.
He added that troops had been deployed in the prime minister’s office, which he described as illegal.
“The Prime Minister has a constitutional office. Deploying an illegal force to prevent it will open a new door and it will not work, God willing,” he said in a statement.
This comes at a time when President Farmajo last night suspended Prime Minister Roble for allegedly corruption, and with the move worsening the political situation in the country.
