The Federal Electoral Independent Commission of Somalia has announced that the Commission has lost all control of its social media accounts in a message to the public.
A statement from the Federal Electoral Commission, signed by the commission’s chairman, Muse Guelleh Yusuf, said its website, Facebook page and Twitter had been taken over by unknown group.
The commission noted that the move to take over the reins of the commission was a sign of irresponsibility and obstruction of the election process, and that it was no longer an allegation.
The Federal Electoral Commission has also indicated that the election data will be released through press conferences and interviews, and did not disclose who took over the commission’s social media.
