Federal gov & federal states meet on escalating COVID-19 cases

Somali Minister of Health Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur, chaired a conference on the growing incidence of Covid-19 Infections in the country.
The conference, which took place in the virtual zoom meeting, was participated by State Ministers of Health, Directors General’s and Advisors.
During the conference, reports on the status of Covid-19 infection were presented by the Covid-19 Infectious Disease Monitoring Unit; Reports were also heard from the Ministries of Health of the Federal State’s, most of which focused on the current challenges and the overall impact of the Infection.
Federal Ministry of Health and the state has taken to note the infection Covid-19 third wave, and it is necessary to take action immediately in order to protect the public and prevent rises which can lead to an emergency situation.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health, which has been on high alert, is jointly appealing to government agencies to take part in efforts to prevent the deadly Covid-19 infection.
The Federal Government of Somalia calls on the Somali community to take part in the fight against Covid-19 infection which is indeed a global problem that requires co-operation and national unity on all fronts.
Dr. Fawzia Abikar Nur, promised that the Ministry of Health will expedite the resolution of the challenges related to oxygen and the arrival of oxygens in government hospitals in Mogadishu and the regions, but before that, The Minister called on the Somali Government and business community to work together to respond to potential needs, and to build on previous successful partnerships in prevention measures within the Somali community.
Dr. Fawzia Abikar Nur, concluded by saying, “From the Government’s side in its fight to end the Covid-19, we will ensure that the Somali people receive the vaccine and take extra precautions, and it is important that as much as possible is reached in awareness for vaccinations in communities. “The vaccine we have brought is safe and secure, as I can confirm, because I have fully received two doses of the vaccine and I have not seen any problems” the minister added.
