Fighters in Ikraan Tahlil close relatives carry out kidnappings; issue serious threats

A spokesman for an armed group of kidnappers in Beledweyne, the regional capital of Hiran region, has threatened to kill his captives if the Ikran Tahlil case is not taken seriously.
The group, which is affiliated with Ikran Tahlil’s clan, said it had four men in the Ikraan case, all of whom were linked to NISA commander Fahad Yassin from the Aw-Hassan clan.
“If we do not get a clear answer within 48 hours, we will take these men down the path of Ikran Tahlil,” said the group’s spokesman Abdiweli Mohamud Abdulle.
“These people will not only be equal in the situation but we will target the descendants of those involved,” Abdiweli added, speaking on behalf of the kidnapping group in Beledweyne, outraged by the killing and abduction of Ikran Tahlil.
Asked if they would respond to the calls and ongoing efforts by elders, Abdiweli said they would not accept anything other than a fair trial in the Ikran Tahlil case.
Meetings are still underway in Mogadishu to resolve the crisis over the Ikran Tahlil case, which NISA says was killed by al-Shabaab, with the terror group releasing a statement denying the very next day.
