Gunmen shoot dead traffic warden in Mogadishu

Various reports are emerging from a recent shooting by an armed group near the Milk Factory in Hodan district.
A traffic police officer was reportedly killed on his way to the dairy factory.
The assailants, who were armed with pistols, fled the scene after the incident, and Somali government security forces arrived at the scene and removed the body of the deceased soldier.
Authorities also temporarily closed the road to the scene of the killing, conducting a brief search, but have not apprehended the perpetrators of the shooting, according to local residents.
It is the second killing in 24 hours in Hodan district, where a woman who was said to be a member of the Somali government forces was shot dead yesterday.
Recently, there have been an increase of acts of insecurity in Mogadishu, including assassinations and bombings.
This comes at a time when Somalia is in a state of transition and electoral process, with the selection of new members of parliament set to begin in the upcoming week.
