Interior Minister & UK ambassador meet; Discuss Security

The Minister of Interior, Federal and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia Ahmed Macalin Fiqi met today with the UK Ambassador to Somalia, Kate Foster.
The minister and the ambassador discussed cooperation in stabilizing the security of the areas removed from the Al-Shabaab organization and dealing with the drought in some parts of the country.
Minister Ahmed Macalin Fiqi said that the government of Somalia is committed to cooperate with partners in securing security and stopping Al Shabab from its control in many parts throughout the country.
UK Ambassador to Somalia Kate Foster, for her part, said that they are ready to work with the government of Somalia to secure and stabilize the security of the country, and they will increase their support to the new government of Somalia.
The British government is one of the governments that supports Somalia in terms of security, and it provides training to some of the country’s armed forces that are trained in the South West Region of Somalia, which fights against Al-Shabaab.
