Jowhar: Landmine explosion targets motorcycle carrying businessmen

At least four civilians were killed when a Bajaj motorcycle exploded on a landmine in the outskirts of Jowhar town.
The blast took place in the village of Haanshooley, between Jowhar town and the airport on the outskirts of the town.
All those killed in the blast, except for the motorcyclist, were well-known businessmen in Jowhar town. It was not immediately clear who was behind the blast, and no group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
HirShabelle security officials have not yet commented on the incident, but further investigations are underway.
The blast is part of a series of insecurity incidents in recent days in Jowhar, the capital of Middle Shabelle region, where local council elections are currently taking place.
