Hafsa Abdi and her accomplice Jackson Njogu, who were both arrested for suspicion of kidnapping in the case of Hafsa Mohamed Luqmaan have been released on bail today.
A court in Nairobi has ordered the two suspects not to have any contact with witnesses or victims and no reason has been given for their release on bail.
Hafsa Mohamed Luqman, a 23-year-old businesswoman, recently revealed that her friend Hafsa Abdi was among those behind her abduction.
She said Hafsa Abdi, the woman who was released on bail today, was the mastermind behind the abduction.
“She was my friend, although she was not very close to me, but she led me to the abduction trap. She asked me to go to Kayole to visit another shop that she owned, “said Hafsa Luqman.
Hafsa Luqmaan, who is currently recovering from the trauma, met Hafsa Abdi in California, and was a neighbor of her workplace selling fruit juice drinks.
Hafsa said she and her friend got on well with each other, adding that she even lent her more than 700,000 Kenyan shillings to invest in her vegetable business.
“I trusted her and she was always with me when she needed me. I just want justice done. I am very happy that they was arrested, ”she said.
Hafsa Mohamed was rescued by police on Sunday, June 20th.
Investigators arrested Jackson Njogu, 24, and Hafsa Abdi, 21, on suspicion of kidnapping and torturing Hafsa Luqman.
The two suspects were apprehended at Crystal View Lodge in the Kinangop area where they were hiding.
