Kismayo; Bomb blast targets Soccer players team bus

More details are available from this afternoon’s bombing in Kismayo, that hit a bus carrying JCCI players in Kismayo.
The bus that was hit by the explosion was completely burnt down, with witnesses saying at least four youths were killed and several others were injured in the attack.
Various reports are circulating about the type of explosion that hit the players’ bus, some say the bomb was planted inside the bus, while others say it was a suicide bomber.
Security forces are still investigating the blast and its aftermath.
Outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has expressed his condolences over the deaths of the young athletes, according to a statement from Villa Somalia.
President Farmaajo described the blast as a testament to how terrorists are the enemy of Somali youth.
“The president expressed his condolences over the deaths of the young players who were massacred by Al-Shabaab terrorists in Kismayo” the statement read.
Despite the statement from Villa Somalia that the blast was carried out by Al-Shabaab, there has been no word from the group regarding the Kismayo blast.
