Lower Shabelle: Danab Special Force Commandos carry out planned operation against Al Shabab

The Somali National Army (SNA) Command has conducted security operations in Lower Shabelle region in the South West State of Somalia.
The troops carried out the operation in Tawakal, Dar es Salaam, Shaam Garre and other areas under Awdheegle district, where members of Al-Shabaab are sometimes seen operating.
Danab Special Forces who led the operation said they destroyed al-Shabaab bases where they used to own a checkpoint, extorting money from the public.
The officials also said that they will continue operations against Al-Shabaab until the areas and districts still under their control in Lower Shabelle region are removed.
The Somali National Army (SNA) has on several occasions successfully carried out operations in areas of both Shabelle and Lower Jubba regions, fighting directly members of Al-Shabaab.
