Lower Shabelle police chief dies in Mogadishu

The police chief of Lower Shabelle region, Colonel Muse Abdulkadir Idris has died in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia last night.
According to inside sources, the Police chief was in Mogadishu for the past few days for medical treatment.
A statement from the the police force was released on the death of Mr. Moses Ali Idris, and in particular sent condolences to relatives of the deceased, the police forces and the nation.
“The Somali Police Force Commander extends his condolences to the family and the police force on the tragic death of Colonel Muse Abdulkadir, Commander of the Lower Shabelle Division, in Mogadishu today,” a statement from the Somali Police Force Command said.
A statement from the police command also said that the deceased was a senior expert who worked with the national and international police.
Colonel Muse Abdulkadir Idris has also held various positions in the police force, particularly in the leadership of Interpol, according to the command.
“Col. Muse was an expert in national and international police law and has held various positions in the police force, particularly in the leadership of Interpol.”
The administration of Lower Shabelle region for its part has expressed its condolences over the death of the region’s police chief, adding that he was a person who has done a lot for the security of the region during his lifetime.
