Mogadishu: ATMIS Officer kills Three soldiers in Halane

A soldier from the specially trained forces known as SFC is said to have shot three other officer in the Halane camp in Mogadishu.
This soldier, who is part of the peacekeeping forces in Somalia, shot and killed three soldiers he was working with before being arrested, according to security sources.
The reports adds that this soldier had a fight with another officer on Monday evening, with the shooting happening at 5:45 in the morning.
“When he was returning to his post, he met another officer who he was working together with and shot him. Another soldier who came out to see what was happening was also shot,” said the source.
The reports add that the soldier ran out of ammunition, and another soldier nearby caught him.
This action which took place in front of the Halane base of the ATMIS command was also confirmed by the spokesperson of the Ugandan Defense Forces, UPDF Brig Gen Felix Kulaigye who initially refrained from doing so.
Kulaigye never spoke about the officers who were killed, but he only said that the reason behind the shooting has not been ascertained, and preliminary investigations are underway.
The soldier who shot inside the Halane camp in Mogadishu is expected to be tried after his investigation.
