Near Anzaloti Bridge in Mogadishu’s Waberi district, two people were killed and another was injured when a school bus crashed.

The vehicle derailed from the slope of the Dabka Junction and overtook some of the people on the side of the road, killing two and eventually entering a civilian residence as it halted.

At the time of the accident, the car was carrying a large number of students from their school, although no casualties were reported from inside the bus except for a minor injuries.

Residents gathered at the scene, including paramedics and observers to help the injured.

Residents say that the rain of this year is impacting the old bridge’s with water flooding it as traffic resumes beneath it.

“We fear that the bridge may collapse because when it rains, flood water sits and heavy trucks park in the bridge as they wait in line to enter the Port of Mogadishu” said resident Shani Ali Hassan.
