More details emerge of officer killed in Mogadishu

Reports from Yaqshid district in Benadir region say that a Somali police officer was killed by gunmen in the district this afternoon.
According to local sources, the assailants, armed with pistols, shot and killed the man, identified as Omar Idris, as he was entering a mosque near the Yaqshid district police station.
Omar Idris was a officer based in Yaqshid Police Station with his duties said to be the registrar of the station.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killings although Al-Shabaab militants have claimed responsibility for a series of assassinations in Mogadishu in recent days and are known to carry out such acts.
