Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has announced that it has captured a network of Al-Shabaab terrorists who were planning to carry out attack operations in Baidoa.

The security chief of the South West administration, Mohamud Shahiyow, said they had managed to arrest 12 people who were preparing for a operation and would bring them to justice.

The network was part of a series of al-Shabaab plots to destabilize Baidoa in the Southwestern Somalia administration.

The operation is part of the ongoing security operation in Baidoa, the regional capital of Bay region, which is one of the areas set to host recent parliamentary elections.
