Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has confirmed that Ikran Tahlil Farah, a member of the agency, was captured by al-Shabaab and killed.
Ikran Tahlil Farah, a member of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), had not been heard from since June 26, 2021, when she was driven from her home in Mogadishu at night.
A statement from state media said, “NISA conducted a follow-up and, after some time, received information that she had been captured by al-Shabaab terrorists and killed.”
The statement added, “The National Intelligence and Security Agency has handed over the details of the Ikran case to the relevant authorities. The National Intelligence Agency also shared this information with her family. ”
NISA said it was pursuing the perpetrators and would bring them to justice.
There was no independent verification on the information from NISA and Al-Shabaab has not yet commented on the allegations.
Meanwhile, NISA did not say how Ikran was captured by al-Shabaab, and how they managed to drive away not far from the agency’s headquarters.
