PM Roble: ‘Parliamentary elections must be completed in four days’

The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble, addressed a special joint press conference at the Presidential Palace in Mogadishu today.
Roble urged the country’s regional governments to complete the parliamentary elections as soon as possible, in order to make the most of the time and implement the election agreement.
He also congratulated the elected members of parliament for the northern regions in Mogadishu, and congratulated the Somaliland commission for holding the elections.
“I commend the Somaliland Electoral Independent Team (SEIT) and the Federal Government for their hard work and for concluding the elections before the February 25, 2022 deadline,” the prime minister said.
Meanwhile, a statement from the SEIT committee in Somaliland said that it was an honor for them to start the election and finalize it.
“It is a special honor for the Northern Regions Electoral Commission to be the first commission to conduct the election, and today it is the first commission to complete the election process before 25/02/2022 which is the deadline for concluding the Parliamentary elections. ”Said the SEIT statement in Somaliland.
“We have also succeeded in securing a 30% quota for women, with the exception of the two separate seats where it was not possible,” the statement said.
It is the first committee to finalize the election of the House of the People, ahead of the February 25th deadline to complete the election of the House of the People.
