President Hassan Sheikh on route to Garowe, Puntland

Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud will soon travel to Garowe, the capital of Puntland, as announced by Puntland State and the federal government.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Abshir Omar Haruuse and a delegation he led, arrived in Garowe today.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Puntland State and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, who spoke to the media today, jointly announced that President Hassan Sheikh will visit Puntland in the coming days.
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, is expected to hold special meetings with the top leaders of Puntland State and various sectors of society.
According to reports, the purpose of the Somali President’s trip to Garowe is to strengthen cooperation between the Somali government and the Puntland administration.
The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, since his election victory, has already travelled to the cities of Dhusamareb and Baidoa, having meetings with the heads of those administrations, Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qor Qor) of Galmudug and Abdiazziz Hassan Mohamed (Laftagareen) South West State.
The federal president will discuss with the leadership of Puntland the cooperation he wants to have with the regional governments of the country.
It is worth noting that Puntland State President Saeed Deni and Hassan Sheikh have had a low level tensions, as a result of the presidential election in Somalia and the selection of the new Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, which had frustuated the Puntland leader, who felt he was not consulted.
