Presidential Candidates’ Union discusses four points at today’s meeting

The Union of Opposition Candidates has issued a statement at a meeting held in Mogadishu today, in which it was discussing on the political situation in Somalia.
Candidate Dahir Gelle of the Union opposition candidates spoke at a press conference in Mogadishu and said that the four point raised at the meeting are most of which related to the process of the elections, in which he said the union “strongly opposes.”
“In today’s meeting, the candidates explored the challenges in general and in particular about the election, and noted below four major issues,” he said.
The Four concerns raised by the candidates are:
1. The delay in the election, the cloud’s of doubts and mystery (of the elections), the frustration of the Somali people, will be the responsibility of the outgoing President Farmajo.
2. Remind’s that the Union of Candidates stands for free, fair and credible elections in this country.
3. To engage in dialogue with the leaders of the Electoral Consultative Assembly, in particular the State Governments, and convey their concerns about the electoral process, and the results to be shared with the public.
4. That the Government led by Prime Minister Roble hold talks with them (Federal States), and discuss how to hold fair and agreed elections in the country.
