The Prime Minister will monitor the security and living conditions in Balad and surrounding areas.

Roble and his delegation also inspected the construction of the long road connecting Mogadishu and Jowhar, the regional capital of HirShabelle.

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble will also meet with intellectuals and various sections of the community in Balad.

Security has been beefed up, with more troops deployed in and around the city to ensure the safety of the prime minister’s delegation.

It is Roble’s first visit to Balad, since he was appointed prime minister of the Somali government.

However, Prime Minister Roble’s trip to Balad came as a surprise to many, as the city is vulnerable to attacks by al-Shabaab forces.

The Prime Minister also met with the administration of Balad district, and also visited the Somali textile factory in Balad district.
Prime Minister Roble’s visit to Balad will be followed by a visit to the headquarters of the five regional states, where polls have been set up for the by-elections that are expected to be finally completed by the end of this year, according to the electoral commission.
