Prime Minister Roble attends conclusion training for Somali Police Force

The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble, addressed a special joint sitting of the Somali Police Force (SPF) at the General Kahiye Police Academy in Mogadishu.

The event was also attended by Police Chief Abdi Hassan Mohamed Hijar, Security Minister Abdullahi Mohamed Nur, Benadir Governor Omar Mohamud Mohamed (Filish) and other officials.

Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister thanked all those who have contributed to the Armed Forces and urged them to serve the Somali community in the future.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has conferred ranks on trainee officers who have returned from training in Egypt, and are expected to take part in operations against al-Shabaab in the country and ensure election security.

The Somali government has been training large numbers of troops for the past four years, but has not yet succeeded in ousting al-Shabaab from areas under its control.
