The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble, met with the Gedo Regional Reconciliation Commission in his office and received a briefing on their work and recommendations for a solution to the Gedo region.

The Prime Minister addressed a wide range of issues, including the country’s elections, regional political movements, differences between Somaliland politicians and his political ambitions during the elections.

First, Prime Minister Roble said that the Gedo Regional Reconciliation Commission has received its report on the reconciliation process for the people of the region and their recommendations for holding elections in Garbaharey.

Roble said the Gedo region issue is now in its final stages, and all that remains is for him and Ahmed Madobe to issue a circular to members of the Gedo regional administration.

The Gedo Regional Reconciliation Commission has paid a working visit to Garbaharey, the regional capital of Gedo region, where they met with members of the public and concluded with a meeting in Kismayo with Jubbaland State President Ahmed Mohamed Islam and other politicians from Gedo.

The Prime Minister’s statement comes as a recent order from Jubbaland leaders prevented President Farmajo’s election adviser from visiting Kismayo.
