Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has fired the Director of Staff of National Intelligence Security Agency (NISA) and the Commander of the Security Forces at Aden Adde International Airport.
Spokesman for the Prime Minister’s communications office Mohamed Ibrahim Macalimu said Abdullahi Kulane and Sheikh Ali Cabdiwaab were sacked after refusing the orders of the Prime Minister that no Somali can be barred from travelling within the country without a legal reason.
“Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, while responding to the illegal detainment of Somali citizens and blocking them from travelling, has dismissed Abdullah Kullane, staff director of NISA and Omar Sheikh Ali, commander Security at Aden Adde International Airport, ”said a government spokesman.
He also stressed that it would not be tolerated for a citizen to be barred from the country’s airports with the nation expected to hold parliamentarian elections on May 27th.
The dismissal follows an incident yesterday (23rd July 2021) at Mogadishu airport where former Gedo Governor Osman Nur Haji (Maalimuu) was detained by security at Aden Adde International Airport and barred from travelling.
Speaking to the media, former Gedo Governor Osman Maalimuu said it was the fourth time he had been turned away from the airport and prevented from traveling to Garbaharey, which he said was orders from the President’s office and sacked NISA official Abdullahi Kulane.
