Prime Minister Roble meets with Mahdi Guled and Abdi Hashi; Discuss Upper House elections

As preparations for the Upper House of Parliament for Somaliland representatives are nearing completion, Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble this afternoon met with Speaker of the Upper House Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, and the deputy Prime Minister, Mahdi Mohamed Guled and Chief Justice Bashe Yusuf Ahmed.

The Prime Minister urged the officials to submit the lists of candidates for the Upper House, assuring them that he would help ensure that the elections are conducted in a transparent and fair manner.

The meeting follows the announcement by Speaker Abdi Hashi and Mahdi Guled yesterday afternoon that had released the Upper House electoral procedures for the Somaliland region.

In the coming hours, Speaker of the Upper House Abdi Hashi and Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Guled are expected to jointly announce the list of candidates for the Upper House.
