Prime Minister Roble meets with Union of Candidates

Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has met with members of the Union of Candidates who have recently raised concerns over the parliamentary elections.
The Union of Candidates and the Prime Minister discussed issues including the country’s elections and the transparency of the electoral process in Somalia.
According to reports, members of the Union of Candidates have informed the Prime Minister that the election of the National Assembly is currently going illegally and that candidates who are eligible to run for some of the seats have been excluded.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble told the Union of Candidates that he would work to ensure the smooth running of Parliamentary elections as his government was trusted upon.
In recent days, the Union of Opposition Candidates has been claiming that seats in the House of Representatives are being looted, thus boycotting the elections, and demanding that the elections be held in a free and fair manner.
