“His Excellency Mohamed Hussein Roble, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, strongly condemns today’s terrorist attacks in Mogadishu and Beledweyne that were aimed at disrupting the elections and intimidating the Somali people and international partners.
The Prime Minister considers today’s attack in the area of Aficiooni camp near Mogadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport and the bombing in Beledweyne are cohesive and organized in terms of target locations, targeted individuals and timing.
Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble sends his deepest condolences to the families and the people of Somalia on the passing of MP Amina Mohamed Abdi who was an example of representing the people and advocating for justice and the rights of citizens.
Lawmaker Amina was known for her role in the struggle for justice for the late Ikraan Tahlil, and a few days ago an attempt was made to loot her seat and was assassinated tonight in an attempt to disrupt justice and discourage anyone who speaks justice.
The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia reassures the people of Somalia that such cowardly acts will never stop them from holding elections in the country as soon as possible, and urges the Somali people to be more vigilant and assist in its implementation of the elections and the need for a new leadership to emerge from a difficult security, political, economic and humanitarian situation.
Finally, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble reassures the Somali people that his government is committed to concluding the country’s elections as soon as possible, and to hold accountable and bring to justice all kinds of criminals.”
