Puntland minister dies in Garowe

The Deputy Minister of Public Works and Transport of Puntland state Asad Hussein Hashi has passed away this morning in Garowe the capital of Nugal region.

According to reports, the deceased, who had been ill for the past three days, died of Covid-19 pandemic, which resurfaced for the third time.

Puntland State president Said Abdullahi Deni today sent his deepest condolences to the families and friends of the late Minister.

“I extend my deepest condolences to the people of Somalia, the people of Puntland and the Puntland Cabinet for the death of Asad Hussein Hashi, Puntland’s Deputy Minister of Public Works and Transport, in Garowe,” the statement said.

The statement also said that the late Asad Hussein was an official who held various positions and served his country and his people.

“He was a leader who served his country and his people, and I pray to God to shower His mercy on him, forgive his sins, subdue him to the grave, and give patience and faith to all Somalis, the people of Puntland, relatives, friends and his family, ”added Deni.

Covid-19 is currently spreading across the country and there are reports from health professionals that case files on the disease is on the rise in Somalia.
