Sahan Research Responds to Banadir Court sentencing Decision
1 min read
Sahan Research has responded to the recent Benadir Regional Court’s sentencing of Matt Bryden, the director of the organization, who is currently living in Nairobi, Kenya.
Sahan Research said it was “deeply saddened” by the ruling and questioned the credibility of the justice system.
It said it would appeal the decision, although it was unclear how the appeal would be implemented as Somalia’s judicial system is still in its infancy.
Sahan said it was pleased with its research and analysis on peace building in Somalia and the region as a whole.
It said their reports are open to the public and anyone interested can make their own assessments, adding that it does not need to break the law to get information, and has never broken the law.
Sahan Research claim the lawsuit is being pushed by the Villa Somalia State House in Mogadishu, with the recent statement indicating that the research company has totally undermined the judicial process and decision outcome by Benadir Regional court.
