Security forces conduct heavy operation in Mogadishu, following mortar attack

The security forces of the federal government of Somalia have carried out a major operation in Mogadishu;’s districts last night.
The operation was conducted and carried out in Warta Nabada district in Banadir region, with special focus given to the neighborhoods near Villa Somalia.
Reports say the operation was carried following mortar attack on the Somali presidential palace the previous night.
Security officials said they had entered some of the targeted homes, arresting people they said were suspects.
The officials added that those arrested are currently under further investigation and will release the official results later.
Mogadishu has recently been the scene of large-scale security operations, with those who were arrested being members of armed groups engaged in anti-security activities.
