Somali Ambasador talks with Zambian gov over illegal arrests of Somalis

Somalia’s Ambassador to Zambia, Hawa Hassan Mohamed met with the Zambian Minister of Interior. Hon: Jack Mwiinbu, where they had discussed numerous issues.
The bilateral meeting focused on the Ndola operation and issues related to Somali refugees in Zambia.
In particular, the two sides discussed the recent targeted arrest of Somalis by the Zambian police in Ndola, who are in Zambia for various reasons.
Zambian Minister of Home Affairs Jack Mwiinbu for his part promised to address the plight of Somalis in detention, which he said he was deeply saddened by.
A statement from the Somali embassy in Zambia said embassy officials would travel to Ndola, where many Somalis were detained today or tomorrow, to continue talks on their plight and how to get them out from the detention centres.
