Somali businessman missing in South Africa; community worried

Reports from South Africa say that Abdullahi Botan Sarurow, a Somali businessman living in South Africa, is missing with relatives unable to track him.

Sarurow went missing three days ago, and his whereabouts are still unknown, fellow Somali businessmen told the media.

The missing Somali national, who was driving a car, left his home in Brits in the North West Province and was on his way to Thabazimbi (146.4). km) to the Brits.

Somali businessmen have also announced that they are now working to find the Somali national, and have joined the case with the South African police to investigate the incident.

The disappearance of businessman Abdullahi Botan Saruurow’s has raised  strong concern and anxiety among the citizens of the country in the South West, which they say they have already faced terrible conditions including security problems.

South Africa is one of the countries  in Africa with highest xenophobic attacks on Somalis and other nationals regularly targeted, often killed, injured as well as looted.

However, in recent times there has been an increase in attacks on Somali businesses in the country, which has been plagued by gangs in South Africa.
