Elections for the various seats in Minneapolis and across the United States will take place on Tuesday.

There are nine Somali candidates running in Minneapolis, and these candidates are vying for the most seats in a single election.

It is the first time in Minneapolis, Minnesota that nine (9) Somalis are running for office.

The names of the candidates who will be running in the upcoming Minneapolis election are as follows:

2. Yusra Arab (2nd District Council)
3. Jamal Osman (6th District Council)
4. Ubah Nur (10th District Council)
5. Abdirisaq Bihi (6th District Council Committee)
6. AK Hassan (Minneapolis Park & ​​Recreation Board)
7. Suleiman Isse (5th District Council)
8. Yusuf Haji (9th District Council)
9. Mohamud Hassan BBC (Minneapolis Park & ​​Recreation Board)
