The Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned the Al-Shabaab attack on Wisil village in Mudug region this morning and says it sends its deepest condolences to the families of those killed in the Al-Shabaab attack.
Deputy Minister of Information Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Adala said the government had taken immediate steps to help the people of Wisil, who this morning showed courage and resisted al-Shabaab attacks.
“The government, while encouraging the people of Wisil, has taken immediate steps to provide relief to those affected by the attack and bombings by al-Shabaab militants,” al-Adala said in a statement.
Most of the victims were killed by landmines planted by Al-Shabaab on the roads leading to the area before the attack.
The Federal Government had sent a private plane earlier today which landed in Mogadishu carrying injuries.
The Somali Military said that it had killed 41 Al Shabab fighters in the battle in Wisil with many injuries caused towards the militant group.
