Somali government forces seize areas from Al-Shabaab

The troops of the 27th Division of the Somali National Army have carried out operations in areas of Middle Shabelle region, capturing areas from Al Shabaab.
The officials who led the operation said that the areas where the operation was carried out were near Haji Ali area which is under the control of Adale district.
The operation was led by the Commander of the 4th Battalion Saney Abdulle and the Deputy Commander of the 27th Division General Salah Mumin Muse and other officers, as the troops took control of al-Shabaab strongholds.
The spokesman of operations and public relations of the 27th Division of the Somali National Army, Major Hassan Siyad Mohamed, said that the forces took over the operations in Bursa-sheikh, Danyere, Birta-dheer and Nur Hoshow areas and other areas.
He also said that the forces will continue operations until other areas are liberated from Middle Shabelle region to ensure security.
The Somali National Army (SNA) sometimes conducts various operations in areas and districts of Middle Shabelle region, but at times comes under attack from Al-Shabaab.
