Somali National Flag Day; President Farmajo calls on national unity to strengthen governance

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, who attended the national memorial ceremony to mark the Somali Flag Day on October 12th, received a salute from members of the Somali National Army.
The President congratulated the people of Somalia on the occasion of the natonal Flag Day celebrations and said that it was of great significance to the people of Somalia as it coincided with the raising of our flag in 1954 as a symbol of independence, our unity and solidarity.
“Today is a great day for all Somalis. It coincides with the creation of the Somali flag 67 years ago by the legendary Mohamed Awale Liban as a symbol of the nationhood, independence, unity and solidarity of the Somali people who have struggled for a long time to regain their independence and control of their country. ”
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo called on the Somali people to unite to strengthen their governance, defend their country and protect their national interests, to protect the legacy of our ancestors and prepare to pass the torch for future generations.
