Somali PM meets with Presidential Candidates Union

The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble has today met with members of the Somali Presidential Candidates Union to listen to their concerns’ regarding updates on the elections and that of the case of Ikran Tahlil Farah in Mogadishu.

The meeting between Prime Minister Roble and officials from the union of Candidates had addressed the political situation in the country, accelerating the electoral process as well as the case of Ikran Tahlil Farah, which has gripped the nation.

The meeting was attended by former presidents Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, politicians such as Abdirahman Abdishakur, Abdiqadir Osoble, Ridwan Hirsi Mohamed and the Somali Deputy Minister of Information.

The two sides also discussed ways to resolve the long-running dispute between President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Prime Minister Roble.

“We had a fruitful meeting today with Prime Minister Roble. We discussed how to bring justice to the Ikraan Tahlil case, unite the judiciary (in the case), speed up the electoral process and calm the (political) crisis, ”said Presidential candidate Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame.

Today’s meeting between Prime Minister Roble and the Union of Candidates comes as the rift between President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble remains, and efforts have been made to resolve their differences, which have ended in failure.
