Somaliland Upper House Federal Election Date Announced

Somaliland’s bicameral election administration committee has released the timetable for the election of members of the Upper House in the northern regions, which will take place on Thursday 23rd of this month, according to the schedule.
Candidates for the upper house of Somaliland’s parliament will be registered on the 23rd of this month, and the registration will continue until Saturday, the 25th of this month.
On Sunday, September 26th, training will be held for the delegates who will elect the senators of the Upper House of the Northern Regions, while the candidates’ speeches will be heard the next day on the 27th.
Elections for Somaliland’s upper house of parliament are set to begin on Tuesday (September 28th) and end on September 30th.
In the three days leading up to the 28th, 29th and 30th of this month (September), Mogadishu will host the elections for Somaliland’s 11 seats in Somalia’s Upper House with the schedule not specifying the number of seats or on the day of their election.
The timetable issued by Somaliland’s bicameral parliamentary election committee comes hours after Speaker Abdi Hashi and Mahdi Guled submitted a list of candidates for the Upper House to Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
