TPLF Supporters Arrested in Jigjiga, Somali Region

Suspected TPLF supporters in Ethiopia’s Tigray region have been arrested in Jigjiga, the Somali regional state.

Police have confirmed that 28 people were arrested on suspicion of supporting the TPLF forces in the fight against the federal government.

Somali Regional Police Commander Mohamed Yare told the media that the assets of those suspected of funding the TPLF or looting from locals during the TPLF regime in Ethiopia were also seized.

Ethiopia is at war with what it call’s the ”TPLF Junta” in the recently recaptured Tigray region of northern Ethiopia.

Addis Ababa city council led demonstrations had seen thousands turn up in support of the Abiy Ahmed Government in it’s fight against the TPLF.

Somali regional leader Mustafa Omar Cagjar recently said goodbye to a large number of troops from the region who were sent to join the federal government forces in its fight in Tigray.
