More details are emerging from the bodies of two brothers who were found dead in the last few hours on the Shabelle River in Beledweyne, the capital of Hiran region.
The two boys went missing yesterday while swimming in the Kiliga Waraaballe River in Howlwadag, according to residents.
Reports say that the bodies of the two boys have now been found in the Bunda-weyn neighborhood after being dragged by the floodwaters.
The deceased were identified as Khalid Nur Adow and Feisal Nur Adow, and were laid to rest in Beledweyne today.
Some parents and residents who live in the area say that regional and district administrations have repeatedly ignored the dangers of flooding the Shabelle River or considered it as priority.
The Shabelle River, which is often flooded in HirShabelle, has killed many young people who go to cool off for swimming with some bodies later found and others disappeared without a trace.
