2 min read

A truck carrying army supplies arrived safely in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug for the first time in 14 years, after traveling by road from Mogadishu.

The truck carrying military supplies was guarded by heavily armed Somali forces and was warmly welcomed in the town of Dhusamareb.

According to the information, the vehicles were up to 12, full of the country’s army troops on board.

Supplies to the army in the central regions were previously delivered by airplanes, and this comes at a time when the Al-Shabaab group is facing an insurgency from the clans residents of Hiraan, Mudug and Galgaduud.

In Dhuusamreeb and areas of Galmudug, there is a strong mobilization of the army towards the areas where the Al Shabab group is still present.

The areas planned to be liberated from the group soon include El Bur, El-Garas and El-Lahelay where Al-Shabaab has been in control for a long time.

Government forces and the local people are organizing themselves and conducting activities in the east of Galgaduud region, which is led by officers of the country’s armed forces, with the aim to reaching Haradhere district and its subordinate areas.

Military officials who MTVSomali.com has spoken with have reported that Al-Shabaab is planning to run away from the areas, after they learned about the operation plan by the government forces.

Al Shabab have caused devastation to the Somali people and the state since they formation in 2006, killing innocent people and destroying infrastructure and livestock, and we are now seeing more and more communities mobilizing each other to accelerate the war on Al Shabab terrorist group.
