Wounded Somali Government Spokesman Taken Abroad for Medical Treatment

Somali government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu, who was seriously injured in a suicide bombing yesterday, has been flown to Turkey today.
According to our reports, Moallimuu was picked up at Aden Adde International Airport by a private medical plane at the request of the Prime Minister’s Office from the government in Turkey.
Moalimuu’s health condition will be treated in Turkey, after he could not be treated in the country’s capital Mogadishu.
The spokesman broke his leg as a result of the injury, and also suffered an arm injury with a severe chest injury.
He will also undergo surgery on his leg.
Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu was injured in a suicide car bomb attack near the Mogadishu’s Dabka Intersection on Sunday, as a man wearing an explosives vest blew himself up in his car.
Al Shabaab, which is at war with the federal government, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
