Young man killed in Mogadishu by armed robbers inside his house

Reports say a young man was shot dead in the Jamhuuriya neighborhood of Karaan district, with the perpetrators having escaped.

The deceased was identified as Mukhtar Yalahow, a resident of the area, according to local sources.

The assailants also entered the house of the deceased and opened fire, killing him.

Reliable sources also told us that the assailants were bandits who wanted to rob the deceased, thusn shooting him on the spot.

Security forces later arrived at the scene and conducted a brief operation in Karaan district of Benadir region.

There was no immediate word from security officials or the district administration on the incident.

Mogadishu has recently witnessed an increase in insecurity acts, such as killings and robberies at nightfall in some districts of Benadir region.

Security analyst say that this is partly due to the country’s transition period, as the Somali government is currently preoccupied in the process of holding elections in 2021.
